We will go over the fundamental sequences by breaking down each pose and offering modifications to make them accessible to everyone. We will talk about the health benefits of yoga and how you can use the techniques in everyday life. We will focus on preparing you for Vinyasa flow, an energizing, flowing style of yoga. After this series you will be ready to jump into several of our other regularly scheduled classes.

Suitable for the beginner, or for those who want a refresher in form, alignment, and breath in their practice.

Each attendee who purchases a pass to both sessions will receive a one week unlimited pass to our regularly scheduled classes (Ashtanga  and special events not included).

We strongly recommend you attend both sessions, but you do not have to attend the first session to attend the second, both classes will cover different material about starting a yoga practice.

We look forward to helping you start your yoga journey!

Rachel David is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Health Education Specialist. She has been practicing yoga since 2003, and specializes in teaching yoga and mindfulness practices to beginner students.

Before becoming a yoga teacher, Rachel worked as a therapist in the mental health field for 4 years, and was able to use several therapeutic yoga practices while treating clients for anxiety and depression. Seeing and experiencing the beneficial effects of yoga on overall health inspired Rachel to pursue a different career path, and she now works as the health education coordinator at the College of Wooster. This position allows her to develop population health initiatives and teach yoga and mindfulness to students as they navigate college life.

In addition to her job working with college students, Rachel enjoys teaching classes at Flex Yoga in downtown Wooster, OH. Working at Flex has allowed her to introduce yoga to numerous people from the community, and work with several organizations including Ohio State ATI, Girl Scouts, the Semper Fi Fund, and Alzheimer’s support group participants. Seeing new students get excited about yoga after initially being very hesitant to try a class is Rachel’s favorite part about teaching. She is grateful for the privilege to show others how to incorporate yoga and mindfulness into their everyday lives.

Rachel holds master’s degrees in clinical counseling and public health from Ashland University and The Ohio State University. She completed her yoga teacher training at Balanced Yoga Studio in Columbus, OH, and has completed additional trainings on yoga mindfulness for anxiety and depression, yin yoga, and insight meditation.
